Cumbria county council AWSs'

Post by tucco » Sat Oct 27, 2012 12:05 pm

Caught a brief glimpse of the front page of the Herald this morning. If i have read it correctly, Cumbria county council are creating web acess to their AWS data and road side cameras for winter.

Sounds great, if true.

I missed that one - YES a great idea.

Apparently some councils have GPS tracking in their gritters and they overlay it on a map so you can see where they are !! and also tweet when a road is done - progress. NOt sure if the drivers would agree mind, knowing some of them

Durham have their AWS with webcams online now, hopefully Cumbria will follow.

Not sure how accurate the wind speeds are? Appear higher than expected at kirkstone and Shap compared to GDF.
