Cumbrian Rainfall Averages 1916-1950

Post by Paul C » Wed Nov 10, 2010 8:31 pm

Some time ago I manage to locate a booklet produced by the Met Office listing the Rainfall Averages for 1916-1950. I have now gone through the stations and created a "Cumbrian" list a mixture of the old Cumberland,Westmorland and Lancashire stations. It was produced in inches so I have converted them all to millimetres. The list by be found below and comes in the form of a pdf file. There are additional Grid references of know sites which I left out if anyone needs to know them .

Hope it is of use

Its interesting, thanks. I'm not really comparing like with like - Scotby isn't central Carlisle but its not Geltsdale either.

My averages for 23 years are a bit higher than the Carlisle figures, specially at the beginning of the year. My annual average is 902mm.
