Broad swathe of snow across Russia and Northern Finland etc - Alaska almost covered.

BUT, read elsewhere that ice cover is lower than average for the time of year

The snow and ice now firmly holding most of Russia and part of Finland etc

Not a huge advance from last time - ice is spreading but snow cover static - just my thoughts

A definite improvement and the first snow cover spotted over Scotland on this one

Snow cover has now spread into parts of western Europe - parts of Hudson Bay still ice free though ?

No real westward advance this year, still areas off Alaska not frozen either

So heading now towards mid winter ?? - looks like the widest area of snow and ice so far, even shows up the snow in the UK, but still nothing over Germany etc. Ive read elsehwere that this years ice cover has been the lowest

Ice reaching that stage now of maximum coverage

Gulf of Bothnia looking more ice covered than usual, but most of Germany etc has been snow free most of the winter
