I am not sure how long it has been visible on the net but the EA are now transmitting near live rainfall data

The information can be found here

http://www.gaugemap.co.uk/#!Map

Click on rainfall at the bottom and it should bring up all the rainfall stations in the county

For eg I can ascertain that between 12 and 4pm today Honister has received 0.4mm rainfall

I suspect this will be a very handy site for flood risk properties and of course us with a weather interest
By logging into the site you can add "favourites" and tweet data (if you wish)

It may be the case you can set some alerts, but I havent discovered how to do that as yet

I am fairly impressed with the setup and good to see data being made public like this, well done the EA
