Looks like us Climate Stations may hit the big time now and again !!

email from Met Office today

"Dear Observer

This is to let you know that the Met Office will shortly start publishing a daily list of extremes on our website which we hope you will find of interest.

The site will be updated with daily maximum & minimum temperatures, lowest grass minimums as well as highest figures for rainfall, sunshine and wind gust and will include data from our voluntary network as well as our network of automatic sites around the country.

Although it won’t be available on our public web site until a month later each list will be compiled soon after the 0900 observation time so if you wish your data to be included in this initial list of extremes it would need to be submitted as soon after the 0900 observation time as possible.

We realise that this may not always be possible due to other priorities you may have and if you are unable to do this then that is fine and there is no pressure to change your current routine.

If you do have an extreme reading and it isn’t included on the originally published list it will be added at a later date.

Kind regards

Paul C
Brampton. 117m ASL.
