Have re-read 'The observers book of weather' (1955) and came across this that made me chuckle (the first time I read the book it probably was quite so significant).
'Everything else in nature moves in regular rhythm, so why not the weather? Can we get data sufficiently far back into the past to establish whether our climates have swung backwards and forwards between rainfall and drought, between warmth and cold, like a pendulum?'
I do believe that that 'data' as been obtained, but for some reason is missed out by the CG believers - possibly 'an incovenient truth'.
