First wasp on Friday, great big huge thing aswell. I was cleaning out the car at the time so it may have been hiding inside ? - Anyway I cant stand the things.

Sounds like a queen wasp, Paul. Where do they hide?? We've found FOUR in our conservatory in the last couple of weeks. They seem to wake up when the sun shines.

Good spot - have had plenty of flies, envigorated by the warmth of the sun, but no other flying insect yet.

Birds - I think are starting to show some early interest - the starlings seemed to have moved on (hence not using anywhere near as much feed now) - I need to clean out my bird boxes.
