Still a little way of yet I suspect, but - Blue Tits are starting to take an interest in the bird boxes.

I'm sure that the Sparrows are not going to be too far away from staring soon.

This a.m. at Langwathby railway stn, saw house sparrow collecting material and starting on a nest in the eaves of the old stn.

The house sparrows have now comandeered the house martins nest on my house.

last year they were in there in Jan'.

I got some black birds, sparrows and pigeons building nests in my garden.

There's a blackbird nesting in the hedge near the greenhouse. No doubt I'll be rescuing the offspring from the greenhouse before long!

Swifts/Swallows - not sure which but they have returned to the house opposite, looking for there old nesting site. I suppose they could be house martins ? - need to refer to my bird spotting book
