Models seem to be very uncertain, though I wonder if it was the ECMWF Christmas part today and someone has spilt some mulled wine in the back of the computer!
Could be very mild very cold, very windy or more likely in Cumbria, very wet over Christmas!

Little chance of a white Christmas - chilly, frost but thats about it - could be worse

Yes, looks fairly sunny even a frost would do.

Beyond Christmas (so it won't get mentioned for the next few days) next weekend looks very interesting indeed.
gfs - euro model
Very low depression tracking north of us, slowly sinking SE, northerly winds on the western flank.
At present forecast is max of 6c - Min of -1.0c and rain - I think that will change if the depression remains as the models show it now.
It would definitely be very stormy - but will it be wet and wild or a snow storm?

other models are available and may suggest something different!

I had tried to resist the temptation of posting the charts after Christmas - I may start now - all depends on the track
