Our blue tits left the nest early this morning. At least 5 flew (its difficult to see exactly how many are in the nest!) and there are no dead ones left in the nest.

I have kept a record of this since 1992 and this is the earliest successful brood! They are very variable quite often leaving one or more dead ones in the nest and sometimes even all of them. The average date for successful broods to fly is about 5th June. No effect of the cold winter here then!!

Great records.
I must have done something wrong because I had all the usual interest from Gt tits, but none nested - next doors cat?
