Well happy to report we have one patch remaining on Crossfell. To me it looks like the same place as in previous years. Below are a series of photos, apologies for the rather crude pointing and date verification. Just need someone now to take a walk up for a close up - any volunteers. May take an hour hike from Hartside Summit ?

The patch is still there today, very small now, would estimate perhaps just a foot or so across. Still visible to the naked eye for the A686

Hi Paul.

I'm guessing Cross Fell's snow has gone now? Still waiting to hear back about Central Gully on Great End, as it looks like a toss-up between that and Cross Fell as to which is England's last snow. Helvellyn's went on the 29th April.

Last snow patch has gone on Crossfell - I will note the date as the 6th May 2011.

INTEND TO CLOSE THE SNOW THREAD DOWN NOW AND REOPEN IN THE AUTUMN.
