Highest % rainfall in the least number of days

Post by darrog » Mon Feb 23, 2015 12:27 pm

I really like this bit of trivia - beat it for a small prize.

Rainfall at Wet Sleddale (Shap) in 1954 was 126.04 inch falling on 268 days with 236 wet days.

However, 30.36 inch of that 24.08% fell on just 10 days.

basically a quarter of the years rain in just 10 days.

can you beat that?

what is really annoying though, 1954 is the only year when the Manchester Corporation provided daily totals to the British rainfall Guides and then in 1955 the gauge was only read monthly
