Nothing really on the cards this week weatherwise to get really interested. Chance of rain or drizzle Tuesday and Wednesday, colder towards the end of the week perhaps but really its average temps all the way for a good while.

Will Hand thinks its going to be hot this weekend and rain unlikely ?

"The heat is coming. A hot tropical continental now becoming increasingly
likely next weekend.
Not much rain I fancy apart from showers and thunderstorms in the west.
Problems in the east due dry weather increasing"

Maybe. I've seen this so many times before in these blocked scenarios with
dry ground. My money is only on the SW, Wales and Northern Ireland seeing
any precipitation and then rather hit and miss in those areas. The SE in
particular I can see having big problems by the end of the month. The upper
trough associated with the slow moving Atlantic vortex looks like it might
disrupt quite quickly and 00Z ECM indeed showed that with a high building
over southern Britain. My money is on an extended dry spell (i.e. well below
average rainfall) right through to June at least"

To date April has a higher Mean Max' temp than that of May.
May is only ahead of april for a mean temp' due to quite a high mean min'.

But the diurnal raange in temps as been quite narrow and often had say 11c at 0900 hrs and the day as only maxed at 13-14c

May = quite a poor month.
