Three warnings out

Amber for overnight - wind - but doesnt show on map
Yellow for Saturday, chance of wintry showers and wind
Monday 1st - wind

Looks a busy period

Yes plenty of weather coming up with strong winds tomorrow yet again and the chance of snow on Saturday, it's one year ago today since that excellent north westerly blizzard that gave 9cms here and 16cms in a Brampton, not expecting the same on Saturday lol.

However, after the MetO miserable failure to accurately predict the snow two weeks ago I suppose anything can happen.

Todays warning isnt for Cumbria but its very close to Alston and the Pennines and I feel it will snow up there.

Warning for snow tonight and tomorrow, however, since the warning was issued yesterday two things have happened.

Good News is that the frontal system will be further north now affecting the whole of Cumbria.

Bad News is that models restrict lying snow to 200metres plus.

I suspect things will be more complicated than that as precipitation intensity will be crucial but what looks like perfect Synoptics for snowfall is now marginal.
