Maybe 3 hours of snow before turning to rain.

Getting tired of this winter think I need a drink!

Yes - I had a rare drink last night, it doesn't work

I enjoy winter, but I would prefer winter to be winter and not what we have had so far. To many snow events have been downgraded or simply never happened. I know some areas of Cumbria have faired well but certainly not here in the North. Good job I have seen some in Alston but even here its been very limited and only a couple of days of road closures

Lets hope we can get one deep cold spell before the end of March

In Summary today a cold and dry spell is on the way. Many areas may see no rain at all over the next two weeks with High pressure in total control of the UK weather. The High centre will mostly lie close to Northern Britain with a cold and raw Easterly flow. Heavy snowfall is unlikely but with a lot of low cloud likely trapped in the flow from the East some occasional snow grains are possible. Should cloud become more broken there could be some more organised weak convective activity late in the week with light snow showers in the SE. All areas would likely stay dry with frost at night but at least the chance of some sunshine by day, the best chances of which would be reserved for the extreme West and NW of Scotland.

Unashameabley copied and adapated from elsewhere

I know where you got that from ;)

Yes, dry and hopefully sunny outlook - we all need it. Pity it's
not the summer though.

In Summary tonight there are continued signs from all models of an extended spell of fine and settled weather. After the very cold weather of the next four or five days things will warm up marginally next week but with High pressure largely maintained over or to the North of the UK things will never be very warm. Overnight frosts will be widespread. In the longer term the Atlantic shows little sign of having sufficient strength to break down the block as things stand and the jury is therefore out how synoptics evolve beyond the next 7-10 days but a quick change to Spring warmth looks unlikely to me anytime soon.

sounds about right
