Frozen water butts!

Post by Anne » Thu Jan 06, 2011 2:48 pm

Thought you'd be interested in this! Our water butts froze and unfortunately cracked during the very cold spell. On Tuesday (4 Jan) my husband cut them open to let the ice melt quicker.

Today (6th Jan) they are still like this despite the much milder weather for 10 days now.

So .... one week later this is what the ice looks like. I'm amazed it still there at all after the mild temperatures and rain!

Edit to say this ice finally disappeared during Sat 15th with the heavy rain.
