Apparently 2011 is looking like the 2nd warmest on record (CET).

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/releas ... statistics

But check the 9.62c and 7.97c figures quoted - shouldn't that be 9.6c and 8.0c?

Well this is my first full year of recording.

Mean Max 13.1c

Mean Min 6.8c

Mean 9.9c

Highest Max 25.7c Sept 30th

Lowest Min -6.6c Jan 20th

Yearly Total Rainfall 1018.0mm

not much to say in terms of comparison as its my first year of data. probably quite a warm year mainly due to mean minimums being constantly above average

Rainfall total was 1018.0mm or 40.1 inches, again not much idea whether this is above or below average as i only have Lorton and the Aspatria averages to compare to. most likely about average.

2011 will be remembered for Aprils dry and heat, The heatwave at the end of September, a very poorl summer and frost-less mild Autumn

Here's my parish mag summary for 2011
Anne

This year can be described as mild and wet with a very poor summer. It was the wettest year I have ever recorded in Scotby since my records began in 1987. The total rainfall for the year was 1098.6mm. The previous wettest year had been 2000 with 1077mm. Only four months were dryer than average; March, April, July and November.

As for temperatures, there were only 3 months which were cooler than normal; January, June and August. July temperatures were only average making for a disappointing summer. On the other hand April was the warmest I have ever recorded and the autumn months were all mild, with November being the mildest I have ever recorded.
