My report for the Scotby parish magazine for October.

Temperatures during October were very much as would be expected for the time of year with the maximum daytime highs around 12C to 15C. The warmest days were the 7th and 8th which both had highs of 19.1C. Nights from the middle of the month were colder than usual with 5 air frosts and 4 other nights below 2C. The minimum was -3.9C on the 25th.

Total rainfall for October was 68.6mm, which is only about 75% of the average for October. The first two weeks were quite dry but from the 15th there was rain on almost every day, although the amounts were usually small. The wettest days were the 6th and the 22nd both with 11mm. So far in 2010 only July and September have had more than the average amount of rain.
