JET STREAM is in a southerly position so cold Arctic gets further south which thus creates these LP systems.

Some favourable looking charts for any coldies out there - could stay cold throughout the rest of November now

Good chance of some lowland snowfall next week

I think us at low level will struggle to see any snow this week, perhaps passing wintry shower on Tuesday. Looking better for the high routes and Fells - the very tops may get quite a bit

Met Office, brief round up

Remaining cold, with sunshine and wintry showers, perhaps to low levels late Tuesday. Wet on Wednesday, with some snow on high ground. Sunshine and isolated wintry showers on Thursday.

I know that it will be winter and not Autumn, but had nowhere to put it.

6-7th December is looking very interesting - a very deep depression passing directly overhead with what looks like quite violent N'ly winds - even the Met'O have a snowflake icon for overnight!!
the 8th then also looks fairly bleak as well - but probably just hvy rain

Surprised that Paul as yet to put up a winter discussion - it must be the excitement that is getting to him as I know just how much he looks forward to it)

Looks like will now be the 5th and not now appearing as bad on todays charts as it did yesterday - however, it does look like we could get some decent accumulations of snow Thurs/Fri and still a significant blow, WNW'ly becoming northerly
