Had a run round this morning

Rough Report 10am

River Eden, Warwick Bridge, very high. just a foot from Banktop

Road between Wetheral and Golden Fleece, impassable flooding

A6 South to Penrith - no issues. River Petteril in flood, masses of water between M6 and A6 nearer to Penrith

Then took road to Ullswater ( A66 was closed, landslide Threlkeld)

This road was flooded in numerous places, but driveable with care. Ullswater itself only an inch or two from flooding Road

M6 North from Penrith, no issues.

Carlisle - masses of flood water eitherside of M6 River Eden Crossing - not unusual but impressive non the less

River Eden Warwick Bridge - appeared to have risen by the time we got back, nearly flooding

(overall I have seen it worse, but its a soggy mess either way)

I only got another 7.9mm on Monday morning so the 48 hour total here at Huncoat for ex-hurricane Kate was 56.5mm.
Far short of the Borrowdale figures though I'm in the Pennines. The rain stopped falling here at 12:30pm on Sunday.

Forget this ex Kate thingy - the title of this section is 'Notable Weather Events'.

It was a bit windy and a bit wet - that is it, no more and barely notable, certainly nothing that we haven't had before on a regular basis.

Instead cast your eyes on the topic of the warm start to November - now that is notable.
