rather interesting snow event today

Pennines east of Penrith - snow only above 1300-1400ft i.e no new snow

Penrith - probably the most snow of the day 2 inches or so

Troutbeck - usually much more snow than Penrith - thin wet covering

Lamonby/Johnby area - 2 inches powdery snow

Millhouse / Hesket Newmarket - almost nothing

So with that SE wind, the Southern, Central and Eastern side of the Lake District did well - orographic snowfall?

anywhere North/ Northwest has been in a snow shadow - here at home there was no precipitation at all
