Re: Weather Ahead January, February etc
my prediction is like all the other times this winter - any severe easterly like modelled at the mo will fail - or be close but not close enough.
we will probably be left in cool S or SE winds

Re: Weather Ahead January, February etc
Well today is the last mild day, average to below average next 6 days but nothing extreme as yet
Most models and "experts" suggesting a cold period, but how long and how severe is anyones guess at the moment
Brampton next 6 days or so

Re: Weather Ahead January, February etc
Metoffice recent output - I am somewhat encouraged
UK Outlook for Thursday 9 Feb 2017 to Saturday 18 Feb 2017:
It will turn cold through Thursday, as cloud and patchy rain, sleet or hill snow moves westwards, allowing colder air to feed in from the near continent on a stiff south-easterly wind. Into the weekend, it is likely to remain cold or very cold, perhaps accentuated by strong winds at times. It will be rather cloudy generally, with the best of the brightness in the northwest. Snow flurries are increasingly likely in the northeast, perhaps with snow showers becoming somewhat more widespread across the UK for a time. Widespread frost is likely. Until mid February is looks more likely to stay cold and mainly dry. However, it may be more unsettled and less cold at times in the extreme west with spells of rain, with snow on higher ground.

Re: Weather Ahead January, February etc
Well the cold spell has started, but how cold and will we see any snow. I am normally in a favourable position if it comes from the east or south east, but as it stands Met Forecast suggest nothing. one snow symbol shows up on Saturday 6pm and thats it
