April was a dry month with near normal temperatures. The average daily maximum was 13.3C, which is very close to the 30 year average. The warmest day (the 9th) only achieved 17.8C, whereas it is quite common in April to see at least one warm day over 20C. A very cold spell near the end of the month, with cold easterly winds saw the 25th only reaching a high of 8.8C. There were 4 air frosts towards the end of the month, the coldest night being the 24th/25th with a low of -2.7C.

The total rainfall for April was 33.4mm, the driest April since 2009 and the 4th driest April I have recorded in Scotby. The wettest day by far was the 1st with 18.4mm. The only other significantly wet day was the 16th with 5.6mm.
