Mean max 17.7c -1.0c
Mean min 11.8c +1.6c
Mean 14.7c +0.3c

Rain 131.2 189%

Second wettest June I've recorded. Although mean temperatures above normal this was largely due to mild nights. If it wasn't for the warm spell just after mid month it would have been dreadful!

June was a wet month with some cold days but near average temperatures overall. Although the average maximum temperature was close to a June normal there were great variations in daily highs. The month began rather cool; a cold day on the 6th had a high of only 13C. Temperatures picked up and we had a hot spell from 17th to 22nd with a maximum for the month of 27.2C on the 21st. The last week was cold again and the 29th was a very cold day with a high of only 13.1C. Night time temperatures were mostly around 10 to 13C but the 3rd was a cold night with a minimum of 5.8C.

The total rainfall for June was 147.8mm, the third wettest June I have recorded in Scotby. There were only 11 dry days and unusually there were three days with over 25mm each; these were 6th (25.8mm), 27th (28mm) and 29th (28.6mm). June was by far the wettest month of 2017 so far.
