July was a cooler and wetter than average July. The average daily maximum was 20C, which is 1.2C lower than the normal for July. There was one very warm day on the 18th with a high of 28C but only 12 days reached above 20C, which is disappointing for July. The 4th July only managed a cool high of 14.3C. Night time temperatures were generally around 10 to 12C; the warmest night was the 19th with 14.1C and the coolest was the 13th with a low of 6.9C

The total rainfall for July in Scotby was 123.4mm, which is above average, although July is often a rather wet month. The wettest day was the 22nd with a total for the day of 32mm; over 20mm of this fell in torrential rain during the afternoon. The 4th (23.2mm) and the 26th (14.6mm) were also very wet days. There were only 12 days with no rain.
