September was cooler and wetter than average. The average daily maximum temperature was 16.7C, which is the coolest since September 2012. The warmest day was the 2nd with a high of 20.8C and only two other days reached 20C. The coldest night had a low of 1.1C and there was frost on cold surfaces on the 28th. Nine other nights had temperatures of 5C and below.

The total rainfall for September was 118.2mm, which is 45mm more than an average September. This was the second wettest September I have recorded in 32 years, the year 2000 had 140mm.The wettest 24 hour period was overnight on 20th/21st with a total of 36.8mm. There was another wet night on the 10th/11th with 31.8mm. There were only eight days with no recorded rain, four of these in the last week of the month
