In 2018 Newton Rigg has had a
Mean min of 5.03c
Mean Max of 13.07c
Mean of 9.05c

This makes it the 13th warmest (since 1957 - complete) and also the 13th warmest (incomplete back to 1914)

During the year it had:
1.) Its 4th warmest summer
2.) 6th warmest monthly mean max - July at 22.53c

Rainfall - is yet to be confirmed as the Met'O's own records for Feb and March do not tally - but will update once have it confirmed.

WEATHER SUMMARY FOR SCOTBY 2018
2018 was a year of contrasts with a cold start and very warm early summer, finishing with a mild December. It was a dry year with a total of 840mm of rain (33.1”), which is the 10th driest year since 1987. Only September had much more rain than normal, with January and February a little wetter than average.

At the beginning of the year we had the infamous Beast from the East at the end of February and beginning of March. February and March were both colder than average with quite a lot of snow compared to most recent years.

April was an average month but May, June and July were all much warmer and drier than usual. August and September saw a return to more normal Cumbrian weather, both were cooler and wetter than average.
