An old rant - I have an old Russell Scientific 100cm soil thermom, never let me down.

I have had two from the Met'O - in both, in not too great a timescale, the thermom as been left at the bottom of the tube.
The glue perishes and the thermom comes away/out of its cap.

Guess what happened today for a third time?
Guess who is not happy?
However, that unhappiness could have been much worse - it is getting harder each time to get the thing back out and today I was failing - finally doused a load of super glue on the cap rim, left it a hour in the tube and a small miracle, the thermom had stuck just enough ...

Wonder what the Met'o will have to say this time?
