Impressed with the Davis VP2

Post by rjd1000 » Wed Mar 08, 2017 8:37 pm

Have had it running for a couple of weeks now

In my screen i have a digital temp/humidity sensor that updates every 4 seconds and is always within 0.2c of the glass thermometers.

The davis is never more than 0.1c different from my digital sensor and likewise the humidity readings are always withing 1% of each other.

The rain gauge despite being at 1.5m above ground is doing well and reading 0.2mm above the standard gauge for the monthly total so far 57.6 (57.8) mm

solar readings seem good and have recorded 21.1 hours of sunshine using cumulus so far

Good stuff indeed

I had to replace mine at the end of the summer, the new version is far better and agree data is very similar to screen and manual rain gauge. Yes there is an odd difference now and again but well within tolerances and for my purposes ideal.

Have you got your data uploading to the internet yet ?

not connected it to the internet, just got the usb one to use with cumulus.

my little netatmo station which is in my screen uploads to the internet and wunderground automatically i think - though i only have that so i can see live data on my phone / internet through the netatmo app which is good.

Thats all you need

If you are viewing your data via Cumulus on your Laptop or PC - its relatively easy to get your data online

Just a few key strokes for Wunderground and twitter

But a website will be needed for your own interpretation like myself, if you need a hand let me know
