I have sent the following to the Met'O:

Dear Met’O – yet again WOW is down!

I have attached my own excel spreadsheet that has my data on it for today (yesterday) – do feel free to input it on WOW when it is back up and running because I am not.

This issue with WOW is now just becoming daft, I know that systems go down and that eventually they will be fixed, but the regularity is now becoming too frequent and I can’t just keep on griping about it and then not do anything – therefore:

In future will you now accept my data via my own excel spreadsheet and YOU input it to wherever you want?
If yes – lovely and no need for me to use WOW and we will just have to arrange how often (daily/weekly/monthly) you want me to send it and to whom.
If no – I will have to give you notice that I will no longer be one of your sites – but I will need to have a discussion with you about the rain gauge.

I would then have to go back to using my own mercury thermoms – but when you gave me a rain gauge I re-located mine elsewhere I would not have to want to move it from there.
I am an EA rainfall site anyway and I am happy to continue providing them with the rainfall data so I would ask if you do remove your equipment that you leave the rain gauge – but if you can’t do this that you wait until I have purchased a replacement.
If you can not leave me with the gauge then I will also have to end my association with the EA unless they can provide one.

Hopefully we can resolve this, but I will no longer be using WOW and look forward to your suggestions for going forward – I have cc’ed my contact at the EA into this e-mail so that they are aware.

Just had a decent downpour here. Had been dry and bright up to that point today with the sun being spotted for the first time properly in several days. 9.1c now.
